Our Practices
Election Law
Election law is a discipline falling at the juncture of constitutional law and political science. It researches “the politics of law and the law of politics”. The conceptual knowledge behind election law focuses on who votes, when that person can vote, and the construction behind the tabulated totals.
Election fraud can involve corruption in voter registration, balloting, and vote counting and certification for the purpose of either ensuring or increasing the chances of the election of a candidate favored by those committing the fraud. Election fraud also covers proceedings related to primary elections.
Arbitration
Arbitration is a procedure in which a dispute is submitted, by agreement of the parties, to one or more arbitrators who make a binding decision on the dispute. In choosing arbitration, the parties opt for a private dispute resolution procedure instead of going to court.
The parties and arbitrators meet in person to conduct the hearing in which the parties present arguments and evidence in support of their respective cases. After the conclusion of the hearing, the arbitrators deliberate the facts of the case and render a written decision called an award.
The difference between mediation and arbitration is that the mediator helps the parties to arrive at an agreed solution. He does not decide the dispute. A successful mediation results in an agreement signed by the parties, whereas a contested arbitration results in a decision by the arbitrator himself without the agreement of the parties.
Mediation
Mediation is an informal and flexible dispute resolution process. The mediator’s role is to guide the parties toward their own resolution. Through joint sessions and separate caucuses with parties, the mediator helps both sides define the issues clearly, understand each other’s position and move closer to resolution. Mediation has three major styles of approach to a case which can be facilitative mediation (the standard approach), evaluative mediation (offering objective opinions to participants), transformative mediation (reaching resolution by correcting power imbalances)
Real estate law
Real estate law, or property law, generally refers to the laws controlling the ownership or use of land. Real estate law is a branch of civil law that covers the right to possess, use, and enjoy land and the permanent man-made additions attached to it. In law, conveyancing is the transfer of legal title to (of) real property from one person to another, or the granting of an encumbrance such as a mortgage or a lien.
Lawyers who practice real estate law must know the state law that applies to their case. State laws are the primary laws that apply to real estate. There are many different aspects of real estate law like deeds, titles, purchase financing, zoning, taxes, and estate planning.
It is the mandate of the real estate lawyer to help their clients gain, use and sell real property.
Tax Law
Tax law or revenue law is an area of legal study in which public or sanctioned authorities, such as federal, state and municipal governments use a body of rules and procedures to assess and collect taxes in a legal context. Income tax is a direct tax that a government levies on the income of its citizens.
The Income Tax Act, mandates that the central government collect this tax. The government can change the income slabs and tax rates every year in its Union Budget. Income does not only mean money earned in the form of salary.
Tax attorneys help their clients navigate and comply with the complex system of tax codes and legally take advantage of the myriad deductions, credits, and exemptions. They also represent clients in tax disputes. Tax lawyers in private practice assist both individuals and businesses.
